Do we need a wedding planner?
If you’ve just got engaged and you’re wondering whether you need a wedding planner or not, here to break it down.
You are probably one of two people:
1. You live a very busy life, work hard, want to continue to have a social life, enjoy your weekends or put your time and effort into those community projects that really matter to you. Planning your own wedding leaves you cold and intimidated. You’d rather do what you do best and leave the rest to a trained professional.
2. You are thinking “We can handle this ourselves.” We can use Pinterest, spreadsheets and we have each other. So, do we really need someone else?
Well, maybe not. But let’s flip the question:
Do you want someone who knows the wedding industry inside out, will take the stress off your shoulders, and help you plan a wedding that’s totally YOU while you still live your life, socialise, travel, and enjoy your engagement? If the answer is yes, then a wedding planner might be one of the best investments you’ll make. Here is what we actually do:
The “Where the hell do we start?” Phase
This is where overwhelm can hit fast, you are sitting in front of thousand options, so much choice and not knowing where to begin. Wedding planners will truly get to know you first, ask you the right questions to get a feel for the style of wedding that fits your personalities. We help you get clear on:
What matters most to you as a couple, your main priorities and those areas you are not too fussed about
Your budget — what’s realistic, what’s worth the splurge, and where we can save
Your wedding vibe, the feeling you want you and your guests to experience and how to bring it to life
The big suppliers to lock in early (I know which ones book up the quickest)
Once your wedding planner has a clear understanding of who you are, your values and wedding priorities, it’s then time to start venue and supplier searching for you.
There is more..
Wedding planners have access to years and years worth of contacts. Suppliers they’ve worked closely with & trust.
Wedding planners release you from mountains of wedding admin by doing the following:
Wedding Venue & supplier sourcing including communication with all suppliers throughout (so you're not chasing quotes or contracts at 10pm)
Wedding website setup, sending out invitations, RSVP tracking, seating plans, stationery creation and ordering.
Design & Styling- this is a meaty area and one where the decisions will be yours but the guidance and direction will come from your wedding planner.
Keeping everything on track and reminding you what’s next or generally just keeping you updated on the progress so nothing gets missed
You’re free to keep living your life, hosting dinner parties, going to gigs, escaping on city breaks while we keep the wheels turning behind the scenes.
Final Countdown: The “Is this really happening?!” Phase
Any last-minute curveballs or changes, wedding planners handle them for you. We create your overall timeline and send it to every supplier. On the day guest drama, family dynamics to contend with - we are the buffer, impartial and your go to person.
As a wedding planner on the day, I am first on-site and last to leave, managing every detail so you don’t have to lift a finger. We oversee all your decor & styling setup on the day. You and your guests get to be fully present, soaking in every moment, dancing your socks off, and trusting everything is handled.
But isn’t it expensive?
Think of it this way: your time is valuable. So is your peace of mind.
With a wedding planner, you get:
Hours (and hours) back in your life
A real-time budget controller to help you spend wisely
Access to trusted suppliers and insider tricks that can save you money
A wedding that feels like you, not a generic checklist
Most of my couples are modern, social butterflies who love hosting, love good food, and want their wedding to be unforgettable but without burning out before they even say “I do.”
If that sounds like you, then don’t think of it as having a wedding planner but someone in your corner who’ll champion your bold vision and make it happen with calm, kind confidence.
Because your wedding planning journey should be exciting, not exhausting. The best weddings start with support that lets you stay present, connected and stress-free from start to finish.
I bring over 12 years of hands-on hospitality and wedding catering experience, with expert-level knowledge on food, drinks, suppliers, logistics and running the full show from start to finish. I’m your own dedicated organiser, creative sounding board, budget watchdog, and all-round wingwoman.
